I'm not a blogger.

On the other hand, I can't say that I haven't tried. Every version of this site has been some kind of blog, put together with the intent of writing something, someday.

Turns out that I actually enjoy putting together a blog more than I enjoy blogging. You could even say that's part of why I'm going to RIT for Software Engineering.

I really just enjoy working on cool projects.

My summer co-op at the MITRE Corporation gave me a chance to learn Android development. We built a custom networking stack so soldiers can use Android devices and tactical radios to send IP data over an ad-hoc network.

I spent the previous summer working at an Osram Sylvania glass plant working with industrial robots use lasers to measure light bulb quality.

Yep, robots and lasers.

Some of the projects I've worked on are just for fun, or because I think there's a better way of doing things. I put together the current default skin for Digsby, when I'd originally only planned to use it myself. I published it online and downloads climbed quickly; it was included with the application not long after that.

What else do I do?

Right now, I'm the web developer for the RIT Leadership Institute & Community Service Center, which is all about helping RIT students and community members gain leadership and volunteer experience.

I'm also the Head of Mentoring for the Society of Software Engineers, an organization for RIT's software engineering students, alumni, and faculty.

You'll also see me at RIT hockey games, where I'm a member of the RIT Pep Band (the best band in the land)!
